After exploring the Red Centre's Uluru and Kata Tjuta connect even more deeply to Australia's spiritual heart. Hire your own wheels or hop aboard a coach to reach rugged Kings Canyon, 306 km from Ayers Rock Resort. Kings Canyon lies between Alice Springs and Ayers Rock. This grand chasm slices the earth 270 metres deep giving a sheltering shadow over lush palm forests and native animal species and protecting them from the harsh desert environment. Early morning departure by a coach from Alice Springs or Ayers Rock to Kings Canyon, travelling through desert. Upon arrival to King Canyon Station take the guided three-hour Rim Walk. It is an amazing experience and something that many people regard as one of the highlights of Central Australia.
